At Nest Wisely Li, we take pleasure in developing relationships! We get to know each of our clients and their families in order to better serve them and meet their individual needs so that they may live the best life possible. We genuinely care about each and every one of our clients and their families, therefore we want to offer as much aid and resources as possible. The following are some organizations, grants, and services for longevity in place, as well as financial and veteran support.

Free/Low-Cost Services for Seniors

Suffolk County Office of Aging

The Suffolk County Office for the Aging is the designated Area Agency on Aging under the Older Americans Act. For almost 50 years, Suffolk County Office for the Aging has administered federal, state and county programs for persons 60 years of age and older. Specific goals for the Office are to develop a comprehensive service system designed to assist persons 60 years of age and older in maintaining maximum independence and dignity, to remove barriers to economic and personal independence, and to provide a continuum of care for the vulnerable elderly. Most importantly, Suffolk County Office for the Aging acts as advocate on behalf of all Suffolk County senior citizens

Nassau County Office of Aging

The Nassau County Office for The Aging is responsible for advising the County Executive and government officials on the problems and needs of the county’s 300,000 residents age 60 and over. Being the first county government in the nation to establish a county agency dedicated to providing programs and services for the over 60 population, Nassau County’s Office for the Aging empowers older persons to live more independently community wide.

Family Service League (Suffolk County)

The needs of Suffolk County seniors are diverse and complex, ranging from housing to healthcare to basic companionship. Family Service League offers several vital senior care programs to meet them, advocating for aging seniors and critical support and respite for the caregivers who love them.

The United Way of Long Island

Many people want the same things as they get older: to stay in their own homes or “age in place,” to maintain independence for as long as possible, and to turn to family and friends for help when needed. But many older adults and their families have concerns about safety, getting around, or other daily activities. Living at home as you age requires careful consideration and planning. United Way of Long Island’s Safe at Home for Seniors program was established in 2020 to coordinate a broad range of health and social services to support older residents as they age in in place. The program incorporates the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s checklist for STEADI – Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths & Injuries model and assessment tools when making home visits.
